A convertible is a sports car with a lot of popularity because of its extravagant look; it has gained a singular attention and it's constantly seen in movies. The first cars were convertibles and its popularity decreased because the authorities issued some security warnings. Today, the convertibles are back and will stay for a long time.
The main characteristic of a convertible is, of course, that it can become an open air car. They are divided in two types: convertibles that have a soft folding textile roof and convertibles that have a hard roof, usually made of steel, aluminum or plastic. The buyer will choose the one that is more linked to his/her own taste. Hard roof convertibles are usually preferred because they offer a higher security; however, they may have some disadvantages such as a smaller space in the trunk and an elevated cost.
